Microdermabrasion

WHAT IS MICRODERMABRASION?

Microdermabrasion is one of the latest ways to rejuvenate and revitalize your skin in just an afternoon! The Microdermabrasion procedure uses either a fine mist of crystals or fine abrasive pad to polish and smoothen your skin. The fine abrasive action is coupled with a vacuum suction to remove the dead outer layer of skin bringing you a new, softer skin with a more even texture to the surface. Microdermabrasion is so precise that the procedure is virtually pain-free.

WHAT CAN MICRODERMABRASION TREAT?

What can Microdermabrasion treat?

Microdermabrasion is ideal to treat:

  • Blackheads and whiteheads
  • Clogged and oily pores
  • Dry, rough skin texture
  • Mild sun damaged skin
  • Mild age spots
  • Superficial pigmentation
  • Fine lines

The neck and chest can also be treated to blend the skin and remove sun damage often found in that area.

HOW LONG DOES THE TREATMENT TAKE

One of the main benefits of Microdermabrasion is that the entire procedure can be done in less than 20 minutes as an office procedure. A complete Microdermabrasion program is usually a series of treatments depending on your specific needs. The number of treatments recommended for maximal results can range between 5 and 12, spaced from 2 to 3 weeks apart. Maintenance of results requires periodic repeat treatments after the initial regimen is completed. Microdermabrasion may be combined with laser or Botox or skin filler.

ARE THERE ANY RISKS?

Microdermabrasion is one of the safest rejuvenation procedures available today. It is unusual to develop any complications from this treatment unless it is done by untrained personnel

ARE THERE ANY PRECAUTIONS I HAVE TO TAKE?

After the procedure, you may have mild redness similar to mild sunburn. You should avoid sun exposure just prior to and one week after microdermabrasion. Abrasive scrubs and harsh products should be avoided too.
